| New York Trip |
| In May of 2000, the week I signed with Ballantine
for BLIND RUN and OUT OF REACH, I took my daughter, Andrea, to New
York for her 21st birthday. The trip had been planned for months,
so it was just coincidence that the two events happened the same week.
But boy, did we take advantage of the double celebration. |

| The following four pictures were taken in front
of the UN Building. Andrea's an Internation Relations Major at University
of Miami, and this was one of her favorite places. Unfortunately,
we arrived too late to get in. So we joked around outside and snapped
lots of pictures. (BTW--if anyone knows the names of the sculptures
we're posing in front of, let me know and we'll add them to the site.
I'm afraid I've forgotten.) |

| We also spent a half day at the Statue of Liberty,
a place I've never been to in all my visits to New York. It was fun,
crowded, and chilly. (When does it get warm in NY? <g>) These
two pictures are takend from the far side of the island, looking back
at the Manhattan skyline. Of course, when we took these, we had no
idea how poignant the background would end up being. |
